A Day of Creativity
No plan, no agenda. Just to finish the video and do some other things if possible. It turned out to be chill and fulfilling. A day of creativity.
‘Feeding the soul is important when you don’t realise you’re doing it. It’s fulfilling knowing that you can slip back into the things that always make you smile.’
I only chose this shot because it matches the creativity of the day.
I always see images like this with traffic and all the lights.
Caught on camera by Kiran, it captures somewhat of the creativity exhumed today.
I finished editing the video for the competition.
It didn’t take too long, nor was it of too much quality.
But I got it done, with some flair which I’m proud of.
I’m proud because I haven’t done anything like that.
But I pictured a story and tried to replicate it in video.
Hit the exact two-minute mark too.
All in all it was good.
We might not win the competition, and in so many ways that’s not the point.
The point that we tried to re-invent the wheel and we’re succeeding.
Higher engagement and more enthusiasm.
People are interested to know what we’re doing and how we’re doing it.
I don’t think anyone expected us to enter the category of innovation.
And even the committee were pessimistic.
But I thought if we made a video that represented the values and methods in an unusual category then maybe we’d stand out.
We’ll find out soon.
That wasn’t the only thing creative I did today.
I wrote a short story.
Part of my short story anthology I want to release next year.
I’m planning to make it an unedited edition.
I don’t edit these blogs anymore, and I think people write better about themselves the first time.
It’s more natural.
I read one the other day from a unnamed friend which blew my mind, they said it was a doodle.
A ‘doodle’.
I’d be proud of that.
These stories are about 250 words and take 10 minutes to write.
I’m hoping that I have enough 10-minute stretches that I’ll be able to curate many stories.
Stories about me, my environment, my growth and my epiphanies.
Not too dissimilar to the blog.
Probably more abstract and more thought-provoking.
Things are changing though.
While I’m a creative and a lot of that is emotional output, I’m starting to make more decisions and choices using logic.
I think logic solves problems and emotion sometimes gets in the way.
So I’m more statistical now.
Never letting go of the human side, but I realise the world loves stats.
Time to turn stats, human.
