Are you just a face?

Can I see past your skin? Do you let me in? And why, for what?

To save face. To keep up an act.

To keep the power…?

The problem with faces is that they change.

Changing constantly to appease others.

The problem with the way we receive faces is that we attach someone’s identity to it.

It makes it hard to escape. That is the fault of mine.

I definitely don’t let people leave that characterisation. Until they remove the mask.

And the face they present is the one they’ve been suppressing all along.
