Hersden, the destination of the new family home. Why Hersden? Well I’ll answer that and more, but for right now I’ll just say hello Hersden.

New home in Hersden, Canterbury, UK

‘A new way of life and a new challenge’

Those are the words I think about when I think about this new house.

It’s not a home just yet.

Still a house.

My mindset is that my home is still in Sidcup.

But I’m sure I’ll make it my home.

In a way I already have.

So where is Hersden?

Hersden is between Minster and Sturry.

Unless you’re from Kent that probably means nothing to you.

So yes, I’m still in Kent.

Sturry is near to Canterbury.

Minster is near Ramsgate.

So in-between there is the sweet spot.

It’s a small place.

Rural.

Not urban.

I’m no longer a city dweller.

My neighbours are cows and fields.

Not other houses or people.

It’s a detached house.

In the middle of nowhere.

Well that’s what it looks like anyway.

There is an industrial park on what side and a care home on the other.

But there are great sunsets and views for miles.

The house is bigger than what we had.

We finally have a garden.

And this is where I have my personalisation come in.

I dug a hole.

We have an apple tree in the garden.

I placed the apple in the hole and used grass clippings around it.

Soon I’ll place a flag in the hole and have my own chipping area.

That’s my way to make it home.

I don’t need to leave the house to practice.

I can practice within the bounds of my own place.

I like the new house.

The location is farther away from London, but that’s something to get used to.

And it’s not permanent for me.

Soon enough I will move out of the house to my own place.

I’m growing up and progressing.

My parents are progressing as they should.

It’s a slower way of life there.

Peaceful.

Well deserved after a lot of hard work and dedication.

But this is where I’ll learn to call home.

Hello Hersden
