Just Married
Today, the informal but mandatory function took place. My cousin is well and truly hitched and I couldn’t be happier for him. Just married.
‘A classic Karachi shaadi’
Somehow the chicken-hogging bachelor has now lost his worldly title.
Married and I think very relieved.
A man of few desires.
Found the woman who matched his expectations.
His values.
His being.
I spoke to him yesterday about it all.
The whole process.
One that, although this wedding has barely happened, my family are pushing me to familiarise myself with.
That joke goes on and on.
Destination wedding in the Maldives or Hawaii (depending if the Maldives has sunk by then).
My cousin, Asghar, told me about the horror shows he’s experienced.
Never ask the five year plan question to him.
He’ll laugh you out the door.
He told me to take my time.
To be sure about it.
Advice of someone who did just that.
I only be the bride today.
She seems lovely and I’m sure when she comes to London soon, I’ll catch up more with her.
The journey to the wedding was eventful.
Although the party bus was in full swing, my stomach was in reverse gear.
I went with another car instead.
On the way back, six adults sat in one car.
Two in front (one driving) and four in the back.
That’s classic.
Can’t have a shaadi without one.
The event was fun.
Loads of pictures.
All the family.
Together.
Something that happens very rarely.
Nevertheless Asghar is married.
He is happy and relieved.
I think it’s probably right to leave him be until the function in two days.
