I think if we get separated from something, we believe it’s of utmost importance to get it back.
But that’s seldom true for most things in life.
Like social media.
However, a break-up can be a deeply emotional experience.
So, what’s different?
I think the mutually-beneficial exchange of value and care is what makes it unique as compared with social media.
Where value is constructed, and not controlled.
The gambling geniuses determine your value and the value you can give to others.
So need is lost through emotional incongruency.
And what is left is something non-essential.
That’s how I feel the last two days of feeding, but not deeply interacting with the machine on a continuous and often painstakingly-annoying basis.
