OMD: One More Day

Today was a tale of two halves, where I don’t have much to show for my day but where I felt I grew a lot. I’m just waiting to start my ‘life’ again.

Everyday, I will attempt to create a professional, articulate, hilarious and modern take on my day of thought or action. Inspired by Casey Neistat who created a vlog everyday for 450 straight days. I will call it: 365MeThoughts

To find the acronyms that are at the top, go to my Instagram page everyday and see what the images are and see if you can figure it out…

The last two weeks since I returned from the USA have been pretty boring. Apart from seeing my friends after months and catching up, the metric by which I define fun has been neutral. I live for routine, university currently provides that for me.

Today, I tried to play golf in freezing conditions. Gave up with the threat of frostbite prominent and headed home. I failed. But, I measured up the options and felt the warmth of my own home was better than the bitter cold outdoors.

Jobs are elusive to me, I really want to work in marketing, PR or content creation now as an administrator or apprentice to have a foot in the door for post-undergraduate. I’ve applied to 16 companies, one reply and even then I was still delighted with the rejection.

I think tomorrow will bring a sense of purpose. I have my Project to work on and I actually have a lot to do in regards to my dissertation grant proposals. Once I get in the swing of university life in London again, I feel I will be more motivated to work on personal projects.

The blog post is rather late today, still within the ‘day’ slot — I went for a late drive with my best friend.

We play this ‘left, right’ game and have ended up in some interesting places from time to time. Today we ended up near my old home in Plumstead, the views are pretty insane over the London docks and the red lights you see in the picture above represent London City Airport. On a clearer night you can see Canary Wharf (pictured below in a edgy fashion and resolution).

I’ve managed to acquire a more professional camera than just my iPhone 6s so hopefully there will be some more crisp images in the future.

I want the 365MeThoughts to be a place for me to share my thoughts (especially on days like today). To share my day and my perspective on an experience during the day. I never want this to feel like a chore. Right now, I’m tired, there is probably a bunch of typos. But I’m enjoying writing and I want to continue to do so.

I guess today, I just can’t wait for the clock to strike 12 (00:00) and for university and London life to officially resume. I will work on the MExU Project, collaborate with relevant organisations and make it a success.

Days like today make me yearn for a more productive mindset and prosperous futures.

One. More. Day.
