You Never Know

Before I finish up the dishes and wander into bed, I thought I’d share my day.

As I try and do every day.

Today was a different one.

A day full of emotion.

And it’s central point?

You never know what people think nor what they know.

I had a chat with a kid today about race.

He was white and Danish.

He told me he’s never seen racism, so doesn’t think it’s a problem.

I’m quite similar to him in that I don’t dwell too much on it.

But it does exist and it is a problem.

One we can’t really easily alleviate, but is certainly there and affects millions.

I think it’s difficult to judge someone based on their face.

But it’s even harder from their words.

I’ve learned that truthfulness is garnered in small doses.

People aren’t forthcoming and rightly so.

But when it comes to emotive debates, you don’t know what they’ll fire out.

I don’t take these conversations very seriously.

It’s likely it’s largely forgotten by now.

I’m very tired.

Human interaction has its limits.

Time for the dishes.

You Never Know
